Privacy Policy
Assalaamu alaikum. We built DeenThrive to help you read Quran more often in a respectful, uplifting way. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Who we are: DeenThrive (we, us) is the owner and operator of the DeenThrive mobile apps and website deenthrive.com. To reach us, complete our contact form.
What we collect when you join the beta waitlist (website): name and email; age group and country.
What we collect when you use the app: account info (email, display name); reading activity you log (e.g., ayahs read, streaks, Deen Points events); device and app diagnostics to fix crashes (e.g., OS version, device model); optional push-notification token.
Payments: handled by Stripe. We do not store card numbers.
How we use your info: to create and manage your account; to run Deen Points (track ayahs read and streaks/points); to send beta invites, updates, and important notices; to process payments; to fix bugs, prevent abuse, and keep the app reliable.
Legal bases (GDPR): contract (to provide the app to you); legitimate interests (security, app improvements); consent (marketing emails, optional notifications, optional analytics cookies on the website); legal obligation (tax/records for purchases).
Your choices and rights: access, correct, or delete your data; opt out of marketing emails at any time; turn off notifications in your device settings; request a copy of your data (portability). To make a request, please complete our contact form. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Children's privacy: we ask for age (or date of birth) to place users into fair age brackets for future competitions and to protect young users. DeenThrive is not directed to children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child provided personal data, please contact us to remove it.
Data retention: we keep account data while you use the app. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data, except where we must keep records for legal or security reasons.
Security: we use industry-standard protections (encryption in transit, access controls). No system is perfect, but we work hard to keep your data safe.
International transfers: your data may be processed in the United States, Canada, or other countries where our providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers where required.
Processors (who helps us run the service): we use a small number of trusted providers to operate DeenThrive. They process data on our behalf and do not sell it. Today, this includes Stripe (payments), Firebase (authentication, hosting, push notifications, crash reports), Supabase (database services), Resend and/or Mailchimp (transactional and waitlist emails), and Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics (error diagnostics). We will update this list if providers change.
Cookies and analytics (website only): we use essential cookies for things like sign-in and security. Analytics cookies are optional and off by default; if you opt in, we use them to understand traffic and improve the experience. We do not use advertising cookies. You can change your cookie choices at any time.
